Under section 142 of the Companies Act 1967, a company must have a registered office in Singapore that is open and accessible to the public for at least 3 hours during ordinary business hours on each day, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Failing to keep it open is an offence, not merely an administrative lapse.
It is the company’s responsibility to keep ACRA informed of its registered particulars. A change of registered office address or of the office hours is filed through ACRA’s BizFile portal, and must be notified within 14 days of the change.
